Bush Fire Service

Bush Fire Service LLC is a versatile company capable of everything from fighting wildland fire to stream bank restoration to training firefighters.

Bush Fire was formed in 2000 by owner David A. Russell as a fire suppression contractor working primarily for the US Government on large fires throughout the West. By 2002 the company grew by building five (5) new wildland engines and two (2) 2500-gallon water tenders becoming one of the largest contractors in the Northern Rocky Mountain Region. Since that time Bush Fire has elevated its personnel significantly along with its management team. In 2003 Bush Fire saw the need for fuels management throughout the West and started the fuels division of Bush Fire. In 2005 the company continued its growth by forming a 20 person, type-2, initial attack crew. The crew participated in wildland fire suppression and disaster relief during the 2005 season. Through furthering the education of the fire suppression team and focusing more on fuels management, Bush Fire has accomplished numerous controlled burns in the past six (6) years.

In the summer of 2002, Bush Fire Service received a Memorandum of Understanding from the NRCG to be a training provider for wildland fire fighters. As a training provider we can teach wildland fire fighting classes to our own employees and the general public that wish to pursue or advance their education in wildland fire fighting. The training takes place in the winter months.
